First off great product.
My goal it to play AVI files on the PS3. I have not tried any other media.
I have been trying to get TVersity and the PS3 to work for about two weeks. Different versions of TVersity and Codec's. I am 98% there. I too have the pausing problem.
Too make things work:
Clean out all existing codec's
Install lastest ffdshow
Install latest TVersity
Add MediaServer.exe, TVersity.exe, and IP Port to router exception list
After this I would get playback but the video would be upside down. I had not let playback play long enought to see the pausing. I was happy to get playback and being upside down was a small issue. Did some googling and someone wrote about ffdshow setting. I had not even thought to look there. So after running the "ffdshow video decoder configuration" applet and look at all the options; there it was a simple check box "Flip video". After checking that I now get upside right video.
Then BAM video pauses. Back to 98% complete. I do know about the PS3 timeout issue (thanks site admin) but the other thing I see is that TVersity stops transcoding as well. Reading in these forums I thought TVersity was to keep transcoding until the job is done or you switch media. If TVersity gets a request from a PS3 for a file and this file is deemed to be transcode then TVersity will start this process and start streaming the video. If you shutdown the PS3 TVersity will still transcode till the end, right?
As stated above I have installed other versions of TVersity (a plus PS3 patch). And when I was trying to get this process to work, I did notice that TVersity would continue to transcode after the PS3 was stopped. This does not seem to be the case with 3b. Maybe we have a timing problem on both sides.
Again great product
